ARTICLE- THE BIRTH OF CHRIST; another awesome work of redemption.
Anchor Passage:
"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him In a manger, BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ROOM FOR THEM IN THE INN". - Luke.2:7
How could there not be a place for them in the inn?!!!.Why does he have to be wrapped in swaddling cloths? Can't they just see it that the messiah of the whole world is about to be born?
These and many more of such questions will keep running through our minds as mere mortals who have little or no understanding of the divine plan of God.
The ways of God can never be similar to the ways of men. The difference is as the heavens are higher than the earth. Our God is one who will never share His glory with anyone. When He acts this way we can't boast in the merits or achievements of men but only in the glorious mercy of God.
Bethlehem is scarcely worth counting among the clans of Judah, yet God chooses to bring his magnificent Messiah out of this town. Why? One answer is that the Messiah is of the lineage of David and David was a Bethlehemite.Also, Bethlehem is small--not that it is great because David was born there. God chooses something small, quiet, out of the way, and does something there that changes the course of history and eternity. The bible in 1Corinthians.1:27 says;
"But God has chosen the foolish things of this world to bring shame to he wise, and God has chosen the weak things of this world to put to shame the things which are mighty".
We can't say, "Well, of course he set his favor on Bethlehem, look at the human glory Bethlehem has achieved!" All we can say is, " God has chosen to carry out His plans the best way it suits Him. He is not restricted by any of mans achievements. God doesn't owe us anything. We owe Him everything.
Bethlehem is scarcely worth counting among the clans of Judah, yet God chooses to bring his magnificent Messiah out of this town. God chose a stable so no innkeeper could boast, "He chose the comfort of my inn!" God chose a manger so that no wood worker could boast, "He chose the craftsmanship of my bed!" He chose Bethlehem so no one could boast, "The greatness of our city constrained the divine choice!" And he chose you and me, freely and unconditionally, to stop the mouth of all human boasting.
The deepest meaning of the littleness and insignificance of Bethlehem is that God does not bestow the blessings of the Messiah--the blessings of salvation on the basis of our greatness or our merit or our achievement. He does not elect cities or people because of their prominence or grandeur or distinction. When he chooses he chooses freely, in order to magnify the glory of his own mercy, not the glory of our distinctions. So let us also say with the others "let God increase while I decrease"!!!
Remember, Christmas will have no meaning if you haven't accepted the offer of salvation, so if you don't have a relationship with God yet, click HERE to begin.
Wishing you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR IN ADVANCE!!!.

ARTICLE: ALL FOR A PURPOSE
For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, regarding the affliction that happened to us in the province of Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of living. (2 Cor 1:8)
But he said to me, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me. (2 Cor 12:9)
God allowed the crisis to close around Jacob on the night when he bowed at Peniel in supplication, to bring him to the place where he could take hold of God as he never would have done; and from that narrow pass of peril, Jacob became enlarged in his faith and knowledge of God, and in the power of a new and victorious life.
God had to compel David, by a long and painful discipline of years, to learn the almighty power and faithfulness of his God, and grow up into the established principles of faith and godliness, which were indispensable for his glorious career as the king of Israel.
Nothing but the extremities in which Paul was constantly placed could ever have taught him, and taught the Church through him, the full meaning of the great promise he so learned to claim, “My grace is sufficient for thee.”
And nothing but our trials and perils would ever have led some of us to know Him as we do, to trust Him as we have, and to draw from Him the measures of grace which our very extremities made indispensable. Most of us would never have discovered the great measure of potentials and abilities that God has placed in us but for the tying times we have had at one time or the other.
Difficulties and obstacles are God’s challenges to faith. When hindrances confront us in the path of duty, we are to recognize them as vessels for faith to fill with the fullness and all-sufficiency of Jesus; and as we go forward, simply and fully trusting Him, we may be tested, we may have to wait and let patience have her perfect work; but we shall surely find at last the stone rolled away, and the Lord waiting to render unto us double for our time of testing.
And if you don't have a personal relationship with Jesus. Click HERE to begin.

NEWS: PASTOR ON TRIAL FOR CALLING ISLAM A SATANIC RELIGION
An Irish pastor who called Islam “satanic” in a sermon is currently on trial for his comments.
Reports have it that Pastor James McConnell, 78, from Co Antrim in Northern Ireland, is on trial for a sermon he posted online last year in which he called Islam “satanic.”
McConnell’s trial, which began on Monday at 10:30 a.m., accuses him of improper use of a public electronic communications network under the 2003 Communications Act.
The prosecution claims that McConnell’s comments about Islam are extremely offensive.
In the controversial sermon, McConnell stated, “People say there are good Muslims in Britain – that may be so – but I don't trust them. Islam is heathen, Islam is satanic, Islam is a doctrine spawned in hell.”
NEWS: GOVERNMENT BANS CHRISTIAN MOVIES FROM BEING SHOWN IN CINEMAS
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is set to investigate the banning of "The Lord’s Prayer" movie from being shown in theaters, on grounds that the ban may restrict religious freedom.
According to Christian Today, an advertisement featuring the Prayer and the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, was scheduled to be shown before screenings of the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Digital Cinema Media chose not to screen the advertisement, however, due to the fact that advertisements promoting “any religion, faith or equivalent systems of belief” are prohibited.
The Equality and Human Rights Commission is set to examine the validity of showing the advertisement in a public setting as part of a larger investigation into the effectiveness of the law protecting religious freedom.
“We strongly disagree with the decision not to show the adverts on the grounds they might 'offend' people. There is no right not to be offended in the UK; what is offensive is very subjective and this is a slippery slope towards increasing censorship," said the chief executive of the Commission, Rebecca Hilsenrath.
The Church of England is also baffled by the decision not to screen the advertisement.
“The Lord's Prayer is prayed by billions of people across the globe every day and in this country has been part of everyday life for centuries," a statement from Rev. Arun Arora, director of communications for the Church of England.

DEVOTIONAL: TRUNCATING YOUR CHILD'S DESTINY?
Bible passage: Judges.13:2-5
Because God is a God of purpose. He never does anything without purpose. When He speaks, He has a purpose for what He says. When He laughs, there is also a purpose(Psalm.37:13). When He created you, it was for a purpose.May you fulfil God's purpose for creating you in Jesus' Name. Do you know that God's plan and purpose for your life has been concluded long before He laid the foundations of the earth(Ephesians.1:3-5)?. However, for you to fulfil this purpose, you have to understand it, and you need to do everything to ensure that its not derailed. Our bible reading shows how crucial it is to understand purpose. When an angel was sent to announce to Manoah's wife that she would give birth to Samson, it was for a specific purpose: the child was to be set apart unto God as a Nazarite. One lesson here is that even when God has a specific purpose for a person, it is the responsibility of the parents not to derail this purpose, right from the pint of conception until God's plan is fulfilled. For example, if Samson's mother had insisted on taking alcoholic drinks or eating anything classified as unclean after she has been warned by the angel, she would have derailed God's plan for Samson.
The plan of God for Samson was that the Holyspirit would start working on him right from when he was in his mother's womb; but if his mother had consumed alcohol, two spirits would have been at war in her: the Holyspirit and the spirit of alcohol( a demonic spirit). Because the Holyspirit would not work where the spirit of alcohol holds sway, Samson would never had become what God planned for him to be. This simply tells us that the physical and the spiritual state of parents, particularly mothers, is of great importance, right from the conception of a child. The actions of a mother affects the fetus in her womb and can alter the destiny of a child. The actions of a pregnant woman who smokes cigarettes or marijuana, often takes alcohol or hard drugs such as cocaine and so on will definitely affect the baby in her womb. Sometimes the physical structure of that baby is tampered with leading to abnormal foetal development or deformities. Such children could even develop mental health issues and find it difficult to live normal lives. Worse still, if a child ends up being aborted, the destiny of that child is completely destroyed. Beloved mothers abstain from anything that can cause harm to unborn child. Do not be guilty of truncating your child's destiny!

ARTICLE: WHEN THANKS DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT
He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors me. - Psalm 50:23
What do you do when your life is going south? What do you do when it is “THANKSGIVING” and you have just lost a loved one… or just lost your job… or just lost your marriage? Surely you cannot be expected to give thanks… can you?
Sometimes thanksgiving is a sacrifice. Sometimes we must thank God through clenched teeth and chocked back tears. Thanksgiving in the midst of a terrible storm brings tremendous joy to His heart. It shows the Lord that we really trust Him… regardless of the adverse circumstances we are facing.
That's what we call THE THANKSGIVING CONSTANT.
Perhaps you are one this year who is having trouble finding good in your life. Look no further than Jesus. He never changes. Despite everything you might be facing, you can rejoice in Him. You can give thanks for Him and His love and care for you. You can give thanks that He promised to work all things together for good.
Train yourself to give thanks in everything. Remember… a sacrifice of thanksgiving brings honor to the Lord. Thank Him for that trial you are facing. Thank Him for that sorrow. He will use your thanks for His glory and your ultimate good!

NEWS: CARSON ASKS TO PRAY FOR TRUMP
After Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump harshly criticized him, the other front-running Republican presidential candidate, Dr. Ben Carson, has suggested praying for Trump.
Reports have it that Trump compared Carson to a child molester because of Carson's self-proclaimed “pathological” temper, revealed in his 1990 memoir Gifted Hands.
"That's a big problem because you don't cure that,” Trump said. “As an example: child molesting. You don't cure these people. You don't cure a child molester. There's no cure for it. Pathological, there's no cure for that.”
"I'm not bringing up anything that's not in his book. ... When he says he's pathological – and he says that in the book, I don't say that – and again, I'm not saying anything. I'm not saying anything other than pathological is a very serious disease," Trump added.
Ben Carson’s campaign spokesman, Armstrong Williams, has said that, in response to Trump’s comments, Carson has said, ‘Pray for him.’ Williams added that Carson said, “He feels sorry for him because he really likes Mr. Trump.”
Although Carson has asked for prayer for his fellow candidate, he also said that Trump does not seem to understand the meaning of the word “pathological.”
“I'm hopeful that maybe [Trump's] advisers will help him understand the word 'pathological,' and recognise that it does not denote 'incurable'," Carson said.

ARTICLE: GIVE IT BACK WITH GRACE
“A fool expresses all his emotions, but a wise person controls them.”(Proverbs 29:11 GW)
There's this very interesting thing about the life we all live. Irrespective of the class you may want to say you belong now, one thing is certain. You can’t control much of what happens to you in life. You can’t control who your parents are, where you were born, the kind of family you were born into and a variety of other factors that have a significant influence on your life.
But you can choose how you react to what life throws your way. You can get angry or stressed out or shrink into depression when slights come at you — or you can respond gracefully. The space between response and stimuli can still be made available for remarkable improvements. The choice is always yours. The Bible says,
“A fool expresses all his emotions, but a wise person controls them” (Proverbs 29:11 GW).
To live responsibly, we must put our minds in gear before we put our mouths in gear. We must think before we act.
When others cause pain in our lives, we often respond by trying to get even. Ironically, in our effort to “get even” with a person who has wronged us, we do get even. We sink to the other person’s level. We can chose to live on the brighter side by selecting our own response. We take total responsibility of our lives when we decide what to feel and when to feel them.
God calls us to a much greater response: forgiveness.
When you’re mistreated, the proper reaction isn’t to blow up or clam up. Both are irresponsible. Instead God calls us to respond to slights with calmness, love, and truth.
Here’s the bottom line: Trust God to settle the score. He has much better resources to do that than you do.
And if you don't have a relationship with God, click HERE to begin
NEWS: EVANGELICAL LEADERS SUPPORT BEN CARSON
In the latest polls, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is losing support, while his rival, Ben Carson, is gaining ground, especially among evangelicals. Trump has been leading the polls almost since he entered the presidential race, but polls now show that his lead is beginning to slip, while Carson’s popularity is growing.
Reports have it that, especially in conservative states like Kansas, Iowa, and Nebraska, Carson is gaining, while Trump is slipping. Based on the Reuters/Ipsos poll, support for Carson among regular churchgoers has increased from 22 percent in September to 32 percent in November. Trump’s support among the same demographic has slipped from 26 percent to 22 percent.
Polls also show that support for Trump is decreasing among women, while support for Carson among women is growing.
Republican voter Bridget Miller of Stilwell, Kansas, says that Carson’s values align with conservative Christian values.
"Carson is pro-life; he's pro-gun; he's saved baby's lives. He speaks to a lot of our values here.”

DEVOTIONAL: THE GOD OF PURPOSE
Anchor Passage: Ephesians .1:9-12
Our God is a meticulous God. He does not do anything without first planning for it. His plans are sometimes mapped out thousands or millions of years before they are executed. We need to learn from this character of God and apply its principles in our lives. Before God created man, He knew that the first Adam would fall into sin, and so He began to make preparations for the second Adam. In the same vein, before you were created, God knew all the details about you. Because He knew your strengths and weaknesses, He prepared the appropriate help you would need to succeed, even before you were born. If you can draw close to God, He will share a bit of His foreknowledge with you. Do most events take you by surprise, or do they occur as a fulfillment of what God has already shown you? Also at what point do you plan for events and activities that you know would happen? For example, at what point do you plan for your children: is it long before they are born, just before they are born or after their birth?
Not only does God plan, He also has a purpose behind everything He does. That is why Ephesians.1:11 says:
" In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will."
We are all products of His divine purpose. Believe it or not, everything and everyone created by God has a purpose ( Revelation.4:11, Jeremaiah. 1:4-5). God has a general plan into which His specific plan for your life fits. You were created unique and you are one of a kind. There can never be another you among all the billions of people on earth. The exact details of your life are in Gods hands. Although God has a specific plan for everyone He created, it is unfortunate that only a negligible few ever get to know and fulfil that plan. Do you know why you are here? Do you know why God made you? Have you keyed into the purpose of God for your life? Are you where God wants you to be and doing what He wants you to do? You need to know that when God is working in you and through you, it is to accomplish His purpose and not yours, even though He grants you your own desires sometimes. Have you keyed into His plan for your life?

NEWS: NOAH'S ARK PROJECT NEARS COMPLETION
While building a life-size replica of Noah’s Ark in Williamstown, Kentucky, Ken Ham and his ministry, Answers in Genesis (AiG), have experienced religious discrimination.
The huge project, which will cost over $90 million, according to The Christian Examiner, is being built in accordance with the specific guidelines God laid out for Noah in the Bible.
The project, called Ark Encounters, is due to be completed and open to the public on July 7, 2016, a date which corresponds to Genesis 7:7, the Bible verse which describes Noah’s entry into the ark.
Ken Ham, who is well-known for his defense of Creationism and his Creation Museum, which is nearby the site of the ark replica, stated, “You know, it's been a big step of faith for AiG to build this life-size Ark. We have (and continue to have) all sorts of battles (as we did building the Creation Museum). But we are burdened to reach as many people as we can with the truth of God's Word and the gospel, and are undaunted."
Ark Encounters was initially granted a tax rebate of millions of dollars by the Kentucky Tourism Development Finance Authority, but the rebate was later withdrawn in December 2014 when then governor Steve Beshear objected to giving a religious organization a tax rebate. The governor maintained that Ark Encounters was not a tourist attraction, but an project for religious indoctrination.
However, reports have it that the Ark Encounters project will bring over $4 billion to the region’s economy. The massive project has also created 1,000 jobs.
Workers have currently been lifting the huge crates filled with replicas of animals into the ark by crane.
"As we tastefully (but boldly) present Christian messages at the Creation Museum, we will do so at the Ark," said Ham, who hopes that those who come to see the Ark will be impacted by the truth of God’s Word.
"It's a message the world needs right now—one that will shine a bright light in a culture that is increasingly becoming spiritually dark," he wrote.

DEVOTIONAL: PERMANENT CONNECTION
Anchor Passage: Philippians.1:20-21
For God to use you as a minister for manifesting His signs and wonders to the world, you must be totally consecrated and committed. In addition you must be permanently connected to Jesus. In Phillipians .1:21, Paul declared that if he would be alive at all, the essence of his living must be Christ. Many of us are still living for ourselves, our families and for others. Until you get to that point of deciding to live for Christ like Paul did, you may not be chosen by God for the manifestation of His signs and wonders. If you take a piece of hot iron and drop it into a bucket of cold water, what will happen to the water? It will heat up immediately, but as the water gets warm , the iron loses its heat. If you are connected to the Holyspirit, and you became red hot, but then you later jump into the cold water of the world, you will still be healing, delivering people and casting out demons initially, but at some point, because you are no longer connected with the Holyspirit, you will begin to lose heat until you become as cold as the world.
Have you observed the life of Jesus Christ? Every time Jesus performed a major miracle, He would immediately set Himself apart from men unto God on a mountain in order to recharge His battery. You need to be permanently connected to the Holyspirit. When a water heater containing cold water is connected to a power source, the water will start boiling after some time. If the water heater is not disconnected, at some point, evaporation of the water will follow. If after evaporation has commenced, the water heater continues to receive power, a fire outbreak will likely happen. This illustrates that as long as you remain connected to the Holyspirit and Hos Fire continues to flow through you, at some point, you manifest Hos very nature, especially in the dimension of being a consuming fire. No wonder Hebrews.1:7 says;
"And of the Angels he saith, who make the the Angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire."God wants you to manifest His very nature. This is only possible when the link between you and the Holyspirit is unbroken. How is that connection today? Do you once in a while dabble into sin? If you do,you break the connection and move away from manifesting as a flame of fire.

NEWS:DENZEL WASHINGTON REVEALS HIS CHRISTIAN ORIGIN
Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington delivered the keynote address at the Church Of God In Christ’s (COGIC) annual “We Care” Charities Banquet, where he opened up about his deep Christian faith and emphasized the importance of raising children in the fear of the Lord.
According to a report from The St. Louis American, the 60-year-old actor recited the Lord’s Prayer before highlighting his family’s connection with the Church of Christ in God and sharing his personal testimony.
“My father, my earthly father, Denzel Washington Sr. was a pastor for the Church of God in Christ for 60 years,” Washington said. “I can remember the most important time in our house – and he would be so excited – was when he was preparing to attend Convocation in Memphis, Tennessee. I didn’t know what he was doing when he got here – in fact, I couldn’t even say the word, but I knew it was important to him.”
In continuing his address, Washington, who has four children with his wife, Pauletta, emphasized the importance of sowing into young people both in faith and finances, drawing connections to his life and personal testimony.
“Forty years ago, March 27, 1975 I was in my mother’s beauty shop. I had flunked out of college. I had a 1.7-grade point average. I had no future,” Washington said. “I was sitting looking in the mirror, and I see a woman behind me sitting under the dryer. Of course, the voice of God always comes from under a dryer.”
The woman, one of the oldest members of his family church, began asking for a pen and paper so that she could write down the prophecy she had for Washington’s life, the actor recalled.
“She said, ‘Young man, you are going to travel the world and speak to people,” Washington said. “Now mind you I was 20 years old, with a 1.7-grade point average and had flunked out of school. She said, ‘You are going to preach.'”
“In this 40 year journey, I guess she was right,” he continued. “Through my work I have spoken to
millions of people. In 2015, I said I’m no longer just going to speak through my work. I’m going to make a conscious effort to get up and speak about what God has done for me.”
Washington also credited his massive success to the prayers of his mother: “I remember saying to
my mother at a time when I was feeling myself, ‘Ma did you ever think that I was going to become this…’ She said ‘boy, do you know all the people who have been praying for your behind…all the prayer cloths, and prayer meetings…’ And she made me clean the windows.”

Before taking the stage, Washington was introduced by his pastor, Church of God in Christ Presiding Bishop Charles Blake.
“You are aware of the great roles that he has played – for some of the most significant and some of the great movies of our time,” the pastor told the crowded room. “And he has an extensive resume describing the roles that he has played and awards that he has received.”
Blake continued: “But as his pastor, I just want you to know him. Here is a man who has shown great love and great respect for his church and his pastor.”
Washington, best known for iconic films such as “Training Day,” “American Gangster” and “Philadelphia,” has been labeled as one of the most powerful Christians in Hollywood due to due to his outspokenness concerning his Christian faith.
In a graduation speech held last May 9, the actor inspired the graduates of Dillard University to “put God first in everything you do.”
“Number one, put God first in everything you do. Everything that you think you see in me and everything you think I’ve accomplished and everything you think I have… everything I have is by the grace of God, understand that. It’s a gift,” he said.

ARTICLE: IT'S YOUR MINISTRY...
Most times around here, people misunderstand resolution for reconciliation. When you want to repair a relationship where there is conflict, you have to focus on reconciliation, when you want to restore a relationship, you focus on resolution.
There’s a big difference! Reconciliation means reestablishing mutual understanding in a relationship It doesn’t mean you’ll remarry your ex; it just means you’re at peace with each other. Resolution in relationships means you resolve every disagreement, and that just isn’t going to happen. Because the truth is, there are some things in your marriage, your friendships, and your work relationships that you’re just never going to agree on, because we’re all different. But you can disagree without being disagreeable. That’s called maturity. That’s called wisdom. That’s called being like Christ!
We can have unity without uniformity. We can walk hand in hand together without seeing eye to eye. I've seen cases of distant relationships where the two parties eventually end in matrimony. In this age and time, some even prefer distant relationships to closer ones.
If you focus on restoring your relationship, oftentimes the issue becomes insignificant. How many of your biggest arguments with your spouse or friend were over the smallest things? They weren’t really about that. You need to get back to focusing on the relationship. That's the ministry that our Lord Jesus Christ committed into our hands. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you have a ministry of reconciliation. It’s your job to go out in society and say, “God’s done everything to put you back in fellowship with him. He’s already paid for all your sins. You don’t have to be his enemy. He’s not mad at you; he’s mad about you. Be reconciled to God. Be at peace with God. Then spread that peace with everybody else.”
There’s a lot of conflict in the world. It’s filled with wars, division, arguments, prejudice and racism, terrorism, and partisanism. And as a result we have broken relationships. We have a broken economy. We have a broken government. We have broken marriages. And we have broken lives and broken hearts.
I challenge you as a believer to commit to becoming an agent of reconciliation in a world filled with conflict. Become a bridge builder, not a wall builder. Look for ways to bring people together rather than tear them up.
And if you don't have a relationship with God, click HERE to begin.

NEWS: CHRISTIAN CHARITY MOVES TO PLACE RESTRICTION ON PORNOGRAPHIC SITES
A Christian ministry and charity has publicly condemned the pornography industry and called out the need for greater regulation. The rate of pornographic addiction especially among youths all over the world is alarming. Research have it that a majority of the Nigerian youths who have been exposed to one pornigraphic addiction or the other in the past have been found to encounter erectile dysfunctions in real marriage.
Christian Action Research & Education (CARE) is seeking to impose similar restrictions on the porn industry as are imposed on the gambling industry.
CARE’s CEO Nola Leach said now is the time “to start recognizing the negative effects of porn on adults too as it has been on children".
Reports have it that there are between 700 and 800 million pornoagraphic pages online and that pornography accounts for more than a tenth of all internet searches. CARE believes that restrictions should be able to be placed on such websites so that those who are trying to break a porn addiction can utilize them.
The gambling industry contributes £6m to fund research and therapy for gambling addicts. Leach believes that the porn industry should do the same.

NEWS: BEN CARSON SAYS HE'S NOT SURPRISED TRUMP IS GOING AFTER HIS FAITH
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson says his relationship with God is the “most important aspect.”
“It’s not really denomination specific,” Carson told the Press following Donald Trump’s criticism of Carson’s Seventh-day Adventist faith.
The Seventh-day Adventist church places an emphasis on healthy living, but Carson said he didn’t agree with a policy decision to vote against ordaining women.
“I don’t see any reason why women can’t be ordained,” he said.
Trump, however, said Carson’s faith is outside of the mainstream. He is Presbyterian and called his church “middle of the road,” while on Carson’s faith, he said, “I mean, Seventh-day Adventist, I don’t know about that.”
In response, Carson told the Press that his faith is clear.
"There are a lot of people who have a close relationship with God, and you can generally tell who they are by the way they act, the way they treat other people," he said this week. "The reason that there are like 4,000 denominations is that people have looked at this and said, 'Let's interpret it this way. Let's interpret it this way.'
"Sometimes they get caught up in that and forget about the real purpose of Christian faith," he said.
On Trump’s criticism: "Donald Trump is Donald Trump. It doesn't surprise ,e that he is doing that. I would only be surprised if he didn't. Carson said. "There are lots of things done in politics that are not fair, but when you get into the fray you have to expect those things".
DEVOTIONAL: DO YOU RECOGNISE THESE VOICES?
Bible reading: John:10:2-5
On your way to heaven, one thing you need to identify clearly is the various voices you will hear.Apostle Paul in 1Corinthians.14:10, indicates the existence of different voices, each with its own character:
"There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification."
Virtually everything seen and unseen has a voice, but of interest to the success of your race to heaven is the recognition of the following voices: God's voice, your own voice, the voice of men and the voice of satan and his demons. It is your duty to identify the voices that you hear, so that you can know how to respond appropriately. God's voice must be heard, understood and obeyed. God's voice can come audibly as a still small voice, through the word of God, from sermons, as prophecy, through dreams, in visions and through any other medium He chooses to use at a point in time. Obeying God's voice always adds value to the hearer, giving direction and upliftment. Every time you listen to and obey God's voice, you are saved form harm, given solution to a problem, divinely assisted, healed and blessed.God does not just speak. He speaks to His children for a good purpose. He could speak to warn you of dangers ahead. This is why you must ask God for grace to recognize His voice.
A particular brother who claims to have been led of God, proposed to three different sisters asking their hands in marriage. It is clear that if he was ever led at all, he did not know how to recognize God's voice. John.10:4-5 states clearly that God's sheep know and follow His voice. If you are following a stranger's voice, it is doubtful you are saved; but if you are sure of your salvation, then it is pertinent that you learn to recognize His voice by paying attention to Hom when He speaks to your spirit. This may occur while studying God's word, praying, worshipping or while in church. Learn how He speaks. Test what you hear as His voice with His word, because if it is truly God speaking, he will not say anything against His written word. In the same way, you need to identify the voice of the flesh, which will always want you to do things that will satisfy its lusts. You should also identify the voice of devils which overtly or covertly nudge you to disobey God or violate His word. You must acquaint yourself with God's word from today!

ARTICLE: EVEN IN DEATH, HIS LOVE PREVAILS
Anchor Passage:
Martha said to Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. And even now I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you." Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" She said to him, "Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, he who is coming into the world."
- John. 11:17-27
Most of us have experienced the death of a loved one. I remember the story of Anna who told me of family friend that died a few years back.
According to her, the death was one that marked the beginning of a mile stone in her life as it eventually led her to Christ.
In the words of Anna;
"Uncle Patrick was only in his 40's, a tough looking, bearded guy with a jolly sense of humor. I remember the day he called my mom, a seasoned nurse, with some unusual symptoms. My stomach felt uneasy as I overheard my mother tell Patrick he needed medical attention as soon as possible.
My sisters and I would only seePatrick a couple more times after that call. Once, just before he was admitted for a bone marrow transplant to treat the rare disease attacking his body. He was wearing his regular clothes and looked like the Patrick we always knew.
The second time was in the hospital after his transplant. He looked weak and bald, and that scared me a bit. It was the day before my convocation and mom urged me and my twin sister to tell him about our beautiful convocation dresses. Patrick listened to our descriptions as if our dresses were the most important topic in the world. A few weeks later, I got a phone call from my mom telling me Patrick had passed away.
One of the saddest aspects of Patrick's untimely death was that he never fulfilled his long-held dream to marry and have children of his own. That stuck with me. But another thing that stuck with me was Patrick's memorial service. I was not a Christian, and to my surprise, Patrick's funeral was filled with one story after another describing his devotion to Christ and his lengthy trips into the mission fields. Patrick's death played an instrumental role in bringing me to faith in Christ a few years later.
I know many of you have similar stories. Life was going along swimmingly, and suddenly the phone rang and nothing was ever the same. I also know many of you have encouraging stories of how God worked through the death of someone in a special way.
Some of the most encouraging reflections are found in the book by former hospice nurse, Trudy Harris, titled Glimpses of Heaven (Revell, 2008). Harris collected stories of her dying patients to offer comfort to those who have experienced loss, and also to share the profound spiritual insights she has gleaned from those getting ready to pass into heaven. Having observed God's tender care for her patients time and again, Harris says, "Those who have allowed themselves the luxury of being present with patients as they are dying come away realizing in a whole new way that there is only one Divine Physician, and it is He alone who sets the timetables of our lives."
While death is always a tragedy, Harris confirms what the Christian faith teaches – that even death has merit when doused with God's grace. Harris writes that many of her patients could sense – even see -- God's presence in ways most of us can't right now. She notes her patients, who endured painful illness, were anxious to give hope, comfort, and wisdom to the living before they passed on. Some even died with so much grace, they wore a gentle smile.
Of course, we can look to our Savior, who did not avoid death even when He could have, to see two truths: God works through the dying process to draw each of us closer to Him, and death – no matter how horrible - does not have the final word.
While it can be difficult for those of us here to bear the weight of losing a loved one, like Martha in our Anchor passage, we can find peace in knowing God does not abandon us or our loved ones even in the darkest moments of death. And while we don't yet have the privilege of seeing God in all His glory, we can faithfully entrust our futures and the futures of our loved ones' to the merciful love of Christ.
