MOST GODLESS CITIES IN AMERICA

          The American Bible Society released its list for the most and least Godless cities in America for 2015. The list was compiled based on a research on how residents of different geographical locations  read the bible. The results revealed that the most Godless cities were majorly in the northeast, which is similar to last year's results.

          On the list, Providence R.I was named the most godless, maintaining its rank from 2014. Behind Providence was New Bedford, Mass, Albany, New-York, Mass, San Francisco, Cedar, Rapids, Iowa, and Las Vegas.

      The most God-minded cities all existed around America's middle belt, with Chattanooga, Tenn taking the lead.

       The research was gathered from phone and online surveys in which participants were made to answer the question '' How many times do you read the bible outside of a church or a synagogue?'' They were also asked if they believed the bible was accurate.

        The overall outcome of the research proved that only 27 percent of America are bible minded.

        The economic situation of things in the land of Israel during the time of Elijah in those days is similar to what we have in this country today. There is widespread corruption and pervation of justice at all levels of governance. The people have forgotten about God and have placed so much priority on the things of this world. Some have practically become slaves of money, involving in nefarious activities just to make a living. False doctrines are widely in circulation in the churches and people are misled massively into hell. The system of governance was completely corrupt, influencing people to forget the living God and cut corners to prosper especially financially. The elections are here again and it is time to decide for our nation. Will you stand for what is right and vote in the right candidate? Will you dare to do play your own part with integrity for Nigeria for another four years?
          Elijah, as a man of God stood for what is right and fearlessly confronted the situation of the nation of Israel at the time. He challenged the prophets of Baal to a duo with the Almighty God and he ended up asking God to destroy them all by fire in the end. Elijah stood against all odds to restore the nation of Israel back for God. At a point,he was threatened by Jezebel,which made him run for dear life into the cave. It was in this cave that God told him about the seven thousand people he was secretly raising in the land to turn things around for Israel.
        I see GOd doing a similar thing in this nation today.God has finally spoken that "BY DECEMBER,31 2025,NIGERIA WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST DESIRABLE NATIONS IN THE WORLD TO LIVE IN" there have been prophecies and there have been prophecies about Nigeria in the past, but this time around, I see God quietly raising a new set of leaders, a new generation of worshipers who will take over the hem of affairs in the nearest future. These are a holy nation, a peculiar people who have never bowed their kneels to idols or kissed them. A new set of leaders who are filled with the spirit of God, leaders who will shake their generation for God and do great exploits. The question remains, "Are you a part of the new generation that God is raising?" ..."Will you withness or play an active role in transformation agenda that God has begun in the nation?" This has gone beyond a wish or prayer, so I don't even need you to say amen!.It is a reality. God has started it already. Great men of God in the country has prophesied and confirmed it repeatedly.So it's no longer "beans" or "dem say dem say". If you know what's good for you,you better key into the vision and start walking in that realm. Otherwise,you'll be caught unawares or left behind. This year 2015 marks the beginning of a new century for our beloved nation. Here is an opportunity to play a major role in deciding the next set of leaders.It is better to act with integrity and watch the generations after reap the fruits of the wise seeds we sow now.
           There's still some time between now and then, you can still make your ways right with God and finally settle your scores with him.God is still extending his arm of help if you yield(Isaiah.1:18). Don't continue to waste you time with some unbelievers who keep saying there's no future for this country. It breaks my heart to know that most youths have given up on their fatherland. These are gonna be the set of people who people who will bite their fingers out of regret when things begin to change. Believe it and you will see it happen and if you think I'm exaggerating, go read 2kings.7:1-2, and see what happened to a man who didn't believe  Elisha's prophecy. May such not befall us in Jesus name

FULFILLMENT vs ACHIEVEMENTS

       There's got to be more!! I thought aloud. Yea!! there's got to be more. Life can't just be about making money and getting comfortable. There's  really got to be more to living life to its fullest. As i ponder on this, i remember the word FULFILLMENT...Yeah,,i think that's a clue. What exactly is fulfillment? Is it a feeling that comes from within or one that can be conjured up. There's a distinct difference between fulfillment and achievement. A man may achieve a lot in life and yet remain unfulfilled. Another may accomplish so little in life and have a great sense of fulfillment. This makes me believe that fulfillment is not a function of material possession, but rather linked with destiny. The feeling of being fulfilled stems from the accomplishment of a life purpose.

       One major cause of this confusion is a decadence in our real values. So many people have prioritized wrongly their set of values. They have replaced the incorruptible with the corruptible.  For instance, we always say that money can't buy happiness, but we know how well our spirits get lifted at the thought of our fat bank accounts. Sometimes, the thought of our financial freedom is enough HOPE for us. All these, makes it difficult to realize the true hope in Christ. ''Christ in me, the hope of glory'' has become an hackneyed expression for most Christians. Contrary to this, we know how troubled we get at the receipt from our banks concerning a fraudulent debit alert of a huge sum.

      So many people don't even recognize the word integrity anymore all because we are too engrossed in the battle for survival. Corruption has become the norm in some industries and corporations and it seems practically impossible to retain old time values such as integrity.

       All these among others has led to a disorientation of beliefs and misplacement of  priorities such that so many people who are merely existing to make a living think that they are happy living fulfilled lives. So many now define it as the acquisition of material things and how comfortable they can be. Our definitions of success and fulfillment determines to a large extent what we want out of life and how we live our lives. A wise man once said ''You don't deserve to live if you have found something worth dieing for''.

Fulfilling your life's purpose is the essence of living, only Jesus can give your life a meaning.

NBC OMITS 'GOD' FROM PLEDGE AGAIN

       Host of Fox News Commentary, Todd Starnes reports that NBC has omitted 'GOD' from its pledge of alliance. The omitted reference to God was made during a commercial promoting a new spy thriller titled ''Allegiance'' which premiers on Feb.4.

      The expression was said to be  ''I pledge allegiance to the flag of the united states of America and to the republic for which it stands.....one nation, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

       NBC said in a statement to the trade industry publication that the decision was made by a small group of people, which was said to be a bad decision.

      Todd maintains that this isn't the first time that the NBC is removing GOD from the pledge. Also in 2013, Rev, Al Sharpton refused to utter ''Under God'' during a lean forward commercial for the Cable network.

LIKE THE STARS

Bible reading: Daniel 6;19-28

      A star is an outstanding figure among his or her contemporaries. He shines and outshines his colleagues. One of the ways to be a star is to be created a star(Genesis 1:16). Jeremaiah was created a star by God. (Jeremaiah 1:5). Another way to become a star is to have a parent who is a star. The day a prince is born. he is already a star. While some people are born as stars, some others are made as stars by men. Better still, some others by use of their skills or gifts and through hard work get promoted to become stars (Daniel 6:1-3).

To shine like the stars, you need God. The bible in Psalm 75:6-7 says;

''For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west,nor from the south. But God is the judge. He putteth down one and setteth up another''.

You can move God to make you a astar if you seek Him and surrender your life to Him (Hebrews 11;6, Proverbs 8:17). You can influence your way to stardom if you shun iniquity and love righteousness. The bible makes this clear in Hebrews 1:9.

''Thou hast loved righteousness and hateth iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, had annointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows''.

      Proverbs 22;6 tells of the importance of parental training in order for children to become stars. In other words, parents can make stars out of their children through proper training- spiritually, intellectually and morally (Deuteronomy 11:19). My mother did a good job on me While other children were playing outside, my mother would compel me to stay indoors and read my books. I am what i am today by the grace of God and the efforts of my mother. Children can also influence their own shining through hardwork (Proverbs 22;29). Some children are addicted to computer games instead of reading their books. There are christian youths who are believing God for breakthrough without hardwork. They are just wasting their time because no breakthrough will come to a lazy fellow. Also children must obtain the blessing of their parents by honoring them. I remember my mother would pray for me thus ''when you call one fellow, two hundred will respond''

THE MYTH OF HUMAN EXISTENCE 2

                                                 

       I remember a discussion i had with a friend so many years ago. She was going through some hard times then, so i had to encourage and console her with the word of God. I remembered vividly that's he wished for death as it would put an end to all her misery. But i was able to make her understand that she was totally wrong. if she dies, its only her body that perishes, the inner beinjg which is her real identity remains and lives on but now in another realm. I told her that she would be surprised to find her body lieing motionlessly on the ground while her real self remains sensitive to the other realm.

       That's the way it really is. Death is only a transition fro one realm to another. As a result of this, christian folks who die in the Lord are only referred to as being asleep. It is believed that the dead in Christ will surely arise on the resurrection morning.

         In my opinion then, our lives on this earth should largely be in preparation for eternity. A life without end. We should spend the limited time we have here on earth preparing for an endless and unlimited life in eternity which can only be spent in two places ''heaven or hell''. In Heaven where we all came from, we existed as spirit beings in a cordial relationship with God,our creator serving and worshiping Him alongside the angels and other heavenly hosts. A need arose for something to be done here on earth. A task needed to be completed and we are born. ''The reason for your birth is solely for your purpose,your life assignment and your destiny.''

As a result of this,we come into a strange world and sojourn in the midst of strange people, massively led astray by the prince of this world, the devil. We are supposed to carry out our individual assignment with the consciousness of returning to heaven someday, but unfortunately, many become carried away by the activities in this world and forget eternity.They live lives like its all there is to be done. So many people no longer remember about the relationship they had with God in heaven before they were born. A realization of this identity us what happens when God calls a man.

BOKO HARAM ABDUCTS 40 BOYS AND YOUNG MEN IN NORTH EASTERN NIGERIA

                                         

        On the 31st of December,2014, an attack was believed to be staged by the boko haram sect wherein 40 boys and young men were abducted from the village of Malari in north eastern nigeria. The press reports that the militants were armed but did not fire at all in the village.

       According to witness, Mohammed Zarami, the number of abducted persons were 40 male youths between the ages of 15-23. He said that was the total number of youths in the whole village.

        Within the same period a total of 15 men were also kidnapped in northern Cameroon. During that attack, the gunmen opened fire on a bus transporting passengers from Kouseri to Maroua district of the area. The other victims sustained severe injuries which may lead to a possible rise in the death toll.

THE MYTH OF HUMAN EXISTENCE

         Man is a tripartite being comprising of  body, soul and spirit. We all shall live forever as eternity is not a function of place or location but of time. I mostly refer to myself as a spirit being that reasons through a mind (soul), and operates through a body. The mystery of the three compartments of man is one  that remains uncontested as we all can testify of subconscious operations such as dreams, near death experiences and so on. If we consisted only of a body, then our physical forms won't remain on our beds when we sleep, we'll all vacate to dreamland and come back to our beds to wake in the morning. The spirit and the body existed in  the beginning. When God created man from the dust of the earth (body), He breathe into him (spirit). The book of Genesis 1:26 says;

'' Then God said. let us make man in our own image according to our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth''.

          It was the breathe that made man became a functional living entity. That's why the spirit of a man remains the candle of God. From the beginning, God has always dealt directly with the spirit of man. In Gen.2:16-17, He told Adam and Eve that they will die if they ate of the forbidden fruit. God was directly talking about their spirit as they obviously didn't fall down dead physically. God has little or no business with our bodies. He connects directly with our spirits. Our soul, which is the mind is only a reflection of whatever goes into us.At  birth, our mind is a vacuum. The term ''tabular rasa'' is used to describe this state. Tabular rasa means a clean slate. It describes the empty and clean state of the mind (soul). Over time, as we grow, we feed our minds with different set of things through our gates i.e the ear-gates and the eye-gates. All these, over time accumulate and settle in our soul. The knowledge that we acquire whether academically or otherwise also occupies a major part of our soul content. The soul now in turn influences our feelings and emotions based on what has been fed into it it over time.

       From the above analysis, we can see that who we truly are is the spirit. We only require a body to operate here on earth. So why do we give less preference to our inner beings? We are more concerned about a perishable body than an incorruptible spirit.

1. For those who observed the hundred days fast in the Redeemed Christian Church of God last year, the harvest of the fast will be given this year.

2. This year will be full of testimonies. Those who have none before will have this year,

3. Some of you will swim in rivers of abundance this year.

4. There will be miraculous completion of projects this year.

5. There will be fulfilment of dreams this year.

6..There will be miraculous restoration this year.

7. The song of many will be ''the Lord has been good to me''.

NIGERIA

By the end of this year, we shall say ''All is well that ends well".

1. All we need to do to charge up our battery is to fast for forty days.

2. The church will grow this year because situationS will compel many to seek God.

3. There will be great hunger and thirst for God and the things of God this year.

4. Total surrender to the commandment of God will lead to rapid promotion.

6. Many backsliders will return and we must welcome them wholeheartedly.

INTERNATIONAL

1. Scientific and medical breakthrough will be many particularly in the areas of lack of sleep,dreams and brain disorder.

2. Ebola will die out.

3. All over the world, insurgencies will be considerably weakened.

4. We must pray against massive calamities.

5. We must pray against massive earthquakes, strong hurrricanes and typhoons.

BILLY GRAHAM RECEIVES AWARD AS ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST ADMIRED MEN FOR THE 58TH TIME

Billy Graham was named as the  number 4 most admired man in the world in 2014, according to a U.S Polling agency gallup. According to the poll, two percent of the poll participants named him as their first or second choice when aasked the question, ''what man that you have heard or read about, living today in any part of the world do you admire most?'' . The poll include results from about 805 adults.

This year, Graham shares the spot with former U.S President, George W Bush.

      Billy Graham has never been ranked as the number one most admired man in the world, he however was ranked second every year from 1969-1974. He has had the most appearances on the list than any other person living or dead.

     President of the United States, Barrack Obama topped the list. He has ranked the list for the past seven years. Pope Francis was second on the list, while Ben Carson and Stephen Hawking shared the number five spot.

SPARED TO BE BETTER

''The path of the righteous is as a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day''.

                                                                                                                                   -Proverbs.4:8

      ''Tomorrow isn't promised'', they say. So make every second like you wont see the next. Its the first day of a brand new year. A year that promises to be the best we ever heard if we make the best use of it. I'm about to pen down my set of new year resolutions when a passage of the scripture suddenly struck me. i.e the anchor passage.What really is the essence of resolutions. What is the key to fulfilling resolutions?. Does it really have to be a set of dos and don'ts?

       The anchor passage talks about the path of the righteous being a shinning light. This extensively describes change, advancement,a plea to get better. Today has to be better than yesterday. God has a specific purpose for sparing your life. There's a reason why you were spared to see the first day in a new year. In the plan of God, maybe you should have dropped dead yesterday if you are going to continue in your old ways this brand new day. God said in His word that if we would not improve our lives, He would spill us out of His mouth. If we take time to brood upon this well enough, we'll realize how badly we have fallen short of the glory of God upon our lives and taken His grace for granted. Most of us want to brag about our minor achievements in life and use that as a justification for a good use of time. What exactly do you know about the expectations of God upon your life?

       This coming first will give a better foundation for whatever resolutions we wanna write for the new year. We tend to get our sense of responsibilities awakened. We realize the desperate need to get better. The need to pray more, to fast more and work harder than we did yesterday. We must let go of wandering thoughts of the past holding us down and bask in the joy of a greater day ahead. Thank God for His mercies that endures forever, but if we continue to live in our old ways because of that, we realize that we fail woefully while His mercies remains. Rom .12;2.

        Even the devil works with time. He knows that certain battles would be totally lost if not tackled early. He is not only happy to see wasted destinies of old men in hell but happier to see young vibrant minds who have lost their life's focus to procrastination, laziness, carelessness and other vices. Stand up and put a stop to the devil's deceit in your life. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Strive to make it better. Its in you. Take charge and rule your world. All you need to be best in this year lies in your hands. So get back to work. Pick up that challenge and see what you can accomplish.
