      A SPECIAL QUIET TIME

''I have to be in bed early in order to wake early enough for my quiet time''    I told my friend as we rounded up our phone conversation. We had been talking for the past two hours and she just didn't seem like one who was gonna quit if i hadn't given her enough reason to. Yea.I had to be up early. My early morning devotion or as most of you will call it ''quiet time with God'' over the past few weeks hasn't been very smooth. If i didn't oversleep from an exhausted night, i'd run through it grumpily like i was coaxed to do it in the first place. I knew it shouldn't continue like this and resolved to make amends so i could get back to enjoying myself with God. So, the previous day i had determined to sleep early enough to be able to observe quality time with God the next day.

  Sometimes i can't even face my day without observing this sacred exercise as it has become my source of strength and inspiration throughout that day. I expect that it also serves the same purpose for every believer reading this now. Even our Lord Jesus christ during His earthly ministry couldn't do without excusing Himself from the crowd and being alone in a place of solitude with the Father. The book of Mathew 14:23 says;

''He went up into a mountain apart to pray and when the evening was come he was there alone''.

Christ Jesus felt the need of perfect solitude--Himself alone, entirely by Himself, alone with Himself. We know how much intercourse with men draws us away from ourselves and exhausts our powers. The man Christ Jesus knew this, too, and felt the need of being by Himself again, of gathering all His powers, of realizing fully His high destiny, His human weakness, His entire dependence on the Father.

Now i'm thinking, if Jesus never underestimated the effect of quiet time during his earthly ministry, how much more we the Christians of today?  If ever there were one who could dispense with special seasons for solitude and fellowship, it was our Lord. But He could not do His work or maintain His fellowship in full power, without His quiet time.
I stop to imagine how busy our days can be when most of us hide under the pretense of busy work schedules. There are certain circumstances which when stuck in them,we cant but wait or spend some time. A good example of that is being stuck in traffic. Why then do we hurry out of Gods presence like we are doing Him a favor? You must understand that as much as God relishes and enjoys the presence of His children,Hes indispensable enough to do without it.Hes All in All by himself and don't need no communion of yours to feel good.

For those who haven't any idea about this blessed art, you never can imagine how much you  miss out daily. Decide to begin spending a quality time of refreshing in Gods presence and youll be glad you did.

And if you don't have a personal relationship with God, He's right HERE waiting for you.

NEWS:

THE SUPERNATURAL MOVE OF GOD AMONG THE MIDDLE EASTERN REFUGEES

Whatever it is that the nightly news presented about the middle eatsern countries might look bleak and uncertain. Yet behind the horror of war,we see God touching hearts in powerful ways, unleashing His Spirit among refugees, their families, and into surrounding communities and nations.

“There is something happening right now that is unprecedented,” says Brother Thomas, a Middle East coordinator for All Nations.

On a recent trip into a refugee camp he met with a Muslim family inside their tent. The father – the patriarch of the family – started to tell him about his son Yusuf, who sat next to him. (Yusuf is the Arabic equivalent of the biblical name Joseph)
“Do you know about the prophet Joseph?” Thomas inquired.
“Yes, he’s one of my favorites; he’s the dreamer,” the man replied.
“Have you had any dreams of significance?” Thomas asked the son.
“No, but my mother has…”
His mother excitedly broke in: “Ever since he was a child I’ve had dreams of a man in glowing white hugging my son. In the last dream he was crying, and his tears were coming down his beard and on to my son’s head.
“I have such a warmth for this prophet,” she continued. “I know he is a prophet.”
“I know who that person is in your dream,” Thomas said with assurance.
The woman’s eyes widened with intense interest. “Who is it?”
“It is Jesus.”

Then Brother Thomas told them the story of Jesus’ love for children, when He said, “Let the little children come to Me.”

makeshift camps

The woman began to cry. It was so moving for her to hear someone loves her family so much He would give her dreams demonstrating His love.”
As he toured the ramshackle refugee camp with structures composed of cardboard, wood slats, and plastic tarps, he found many who had similar encounters with God. Almost every family we visited had some kind of experience, either through dreams or someone had given them a New Testament in the medical clinic or prayed for them,” he noted.

Brother Thomas observed a feeling of desperation that pervaded the camps. “There was a lot of fear and uncertainty about the future,” he discovered. “Every family has lost people through warfare or has a story of pain. Because the war is Muslim against Muslim they have a feeling there has to be something better. They are looking for answers.”
“Over and over we saw people who have questions, who want to know more about Jesus.”

Brother Thomas knows other Christian workers equally amazed. “I have friends who have been here 17-20 years and it’s mind boggling for them,” he says. “Previously they shared with someone for seven or eight years before they came to know Jesus. Now it happens in two or three months and they bring others with them.”
While this move of God seems to have originated in the refugee camps, it is not contained there. “It’s happening everywhere, but mostly around the refugees,” Thomas notes. “There is something happening in the spiritual atmosphere because these refugees are so open and so hungry.
“As they respond, the neighboring countries are responding in the same way. Something is being stirred up. People are coming into the kingdom practically without us – we get to be the midwives.”

Brother Thomas is struck by the contrast between the grim news portrayed on television and the reality of God’s work behind the scenes. “When I watch the news, it seems like things are getting worse,” he observes. “But when I talk to my friends in the area I see the Kingdom is coming – people are coming to the Lord. Whole families are coming to Christ, communities are changing, I can see the Kingdom expanding.”

NEWS:

MUSLIM EXTREMISTS KILL 31 CHRISTIANS IN TARABA STATE

Armed Muslim extremists stormed two churches in Taraba state on Sunday (Oct. 19) and killed 31 people as they worshipped, a church leader said.

Two pastors, one pastor’s son, and 28 other Christians were slain in the attacks in the villages of Gindin Waya and Sondi, said the Rev. Caleb Ahema, president of the Christian Reformed Church of Christ in Nigeria. Ahema said the onslaught was the seventh attack on Christian communities in Wukari Local Government Area since February.

“The attack on Christians in Taraba state is a planned genocide against Christians by Islamic insurgents who have invaded the southern part of the state, inhabited mostly by Christians, since February,” he said.

Ahema said the Muslim extremists, who wore military uniforms, were members of the Islamic extremist group Boko Haram who came from outside the state. Recently insurgents from Boko Haram, based in Borno state, have reportedly joined ethnic Fulani herdsmen in attacks on Christians in Taraba and other northeastern states.

Some recent attacks, according to Nigerian press reports, have been carried out by Fulani herdsmen who have become members of Boko Haram, which seeks to impose sharia (Islamic law) throughout Nigeria.

While ethnic Fulanis have had longstanding property disputes with Christian farmers, church leaders say attacks on Christian communities by the herdsmen constitute a war “by Islam to eliminate Christianity” in Nigeria.

“This is the third time that the Muslims have attacked Christians on a Sunday,” Ahema said. “The attack led to the death of four persons in Gindin Waya, and 27 persons in Sondi. Among the dead is the pastor of the Sondi church, Nuhu Useni, and his only male child.”

Pastor Useni and the three other Christians slain in Sondi were buried on Monday (Oct. 20), he said.

Ahema said the killings have caused excruciating pain for the Reformed Church in Nigeria, and he appealed for the Nigerian government to take steps to stop the blood bath.

“Muslims seem determined to wipe out Christians in this country,” he said. “What is happening? How come Christians have been attacked seven times now, and it seems as if the country has no good security intelligence gathering network, or that security reports are not being used?”

Islamic extremist insurgents with Boko Haram and others killed 1,631 Christians in the country for their faith in the first six months of 2014 – a figure that is 91 percent of the total Christians killed in the country in all of last year, according to advocacy group Jubilee Campaign. Last year 1,783 Christians were killed for their faith, according to Jubilee Campaign.

The increase in Christian deaths this year accompanies an increase in the total number of people killed during the period, mainly by Boko Haram – 4,099, which is 975 more than the total deaths from attacks by religious extremists for all of last year, 3,124, according to Jubilee.

While Boko Haram (translated as “Western education is a sin”) is the moniker residents of Maiduguri, Borno state gave the insurgents, the group calls itself the Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, translated as “The Congregation of the People of Tradition for Proselytism and Jihad.” The United States designated it as a Foreign Terrorist Organization in November 2013.

Christians make up 51.3 percent of the country's population of 158.2 million, while Muslims account for 45 percent and live mainly in the north.

Earlier this year, well-armed Islamist mercenaries from Niger accompanied ethnic Fulani herdsmen in attacks on eight towns and villages across four local government areas in the southern part of Taraba, Christian leaders told the head of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria. The assailants also destroyed three church buildings.

On July 31 the assailants killed three Christians in their homes in Mayokam, Bali Local Government Area, and one in Danburam, they said. Since March, mercenary-backed, Islamist Fulani herdsmen have killed 30 Christians in Ndo Yakuima, 24 in Bajimba, and 11 in Nayinwa, Tudun Wada and Yamini. In Nwokyon, at least seven Christians were killed.

“The government with whom lies the onus to protect the lives and properties of the citizens as provided for in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria seems to have no interest in these killings and displacement of people, with attending sufferings by women and children especially,” Ahema said.

NOW YOU ARE PRAYING...

Why do you think Prayer is the most effective way of communicating with God? In 1Thessalonians.5:17, we are encouraged as Christians to pray without ceasing. Jesus himself in the book of Matthew.6:9-13 taught his disciples how to pray. James.5:16 also says that effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much.

All the above references point to the singular fact that prayer is an indispensable tool for a fruitful Christian walk. If this statement is valid, then what exactly makes a prayer session worthwhile? Is it the intensity of requests, repetition of points, the voice tone or the duration of the prayer session?
All these mean nothing compared to the state of our hearts while praying. How vulnerable can we get with God? Prayer in its real sense is a simple and interesting exercise. Most of us go an extra mile to complicate the essence of the whole thing, thinking that quick answers are a function of such. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave his template when He taught his disciples how to pray and in that we see no form of complexity or an extra complication of any sort. He starts with an acknowledgment of Gods majesty, His fatherhood and an awesome reverence of His authority...... and ends with a similar oath of surrender to Gods perfect will.

God already knows our requests even before we open our mouths to say a word. In His omniscient majesty, He already plans to satisfy our desires according to His riches in glory. Yet, this does not out-rule the place of we making precise requests and petitions. When God encourages His children to pray to Him, all He wants to hear is your voice and behold the vulnerable state of your heart. He wants to see your total dependence on Him and despite your dire needs, your total submission to His perfect will.

Honesty and sincerity are integral parts of an effective prayer. According to Bishop David Oyedepo, a prayer will remain unanswered if you are not sincere enough with God and His will. Remember that God cannot be mocked, so there's no point pretending to a God who sees your heart just the way it is. Get ready to bare your heart to God in the place of prayer, breakdown before Him and let Him fix you again. You should come out of prayer feeling refreshed and energized than ever. That's when it becomes a worthwhile exercise. One we always look forward to every day of our lives.

So go ahead and spice up your prayer life with a renewed vigor, an assurance that a caring Father is waiting to hear your sweet voice calling out to him. And of course we all know that He's a rewarder of they that diligently seek Him..

You must never forget that any prayer, even if you think you are really bad at it...is better than no prayer at all, so if this has been stopping you from praying, then get over it. Don't let the devil rob you of this great privilege. Our heavenly Father loves you and wants to hear from you, whether you are good at it or not

And if you don't have a working relationship with God, remember He's your maker and whether you like it or not, you will give account of your life to Him someday. So decide for Him today, and you'll be glad you did.

LIBERIAN PRAYER WARRIOR HEALED OF EBOLA AFTER TOUCH FROM GOD

This woman of faith lives in a one-room tin house with holes in the walls in a crowded section of the capital of Liberia. Her most-prized possession is a well-worn Bible, a sword she wields – along with fervent prayer – as Ebola ravages her church and her neighborhood.

“Only God knows where we are heading to now,” Dorothy Sawer, 48, said. Sawer is an abandoned wife caring for six children in impoverished circumstances – but she has her faith.
That faith – in the midst of the devastating epidemic – is often ridiculed by her neighbors. “Sometimes I pray loud; sometimes I pray louder,” she told The Times. “My neighbors get vexed.People laugh at me and mock me. They say, ‘Every day, it’s God, God, God business.”

Dorothy Sawer with her bible
When Sawer was 10-years-old, she had her first personal encounter with God. She saw a flash of light and a white man with long hair appeared out of nowhere, his back turned. Then he disappeared as quickly as he had arrived.“I believe that was the angel of God that I saw,” she told The Times. From then on, she had “spiritual fits” and had to drop out of school. She also received prophetic words for people close to her. She even says her former husband was attacked by thieves after he ignored her warning.
Ebola first arrived in Liberia in March, then died down after a few cases. But in July it re-emerged with a vengeance, killing staff members at New Kru Town’s Redemption Hospital before devastating the local community.
“Be careful with this Ebola thing. Be careful,” Pastor Garpou told Sawer. Some churchgoers at Conqueror’s Tabernacle say Ebola is a sign of the Last Days. Some say it’s a punishment, or something Satan brought. Sawer is certain it is a spiritual disease, not just a physical sickness, she told The Times.
Although she heard the government warnings not to touch people with Ebola, “I wasn’t afraid because I believed God was with me.”

That month, the virus hit the ramshackle house next to the pastor and his wife. A mother of three was the first to succumb; she died in a wheelbarrow on the way to a clinic. Four people in the house died, including a tailor and his child. The tailor’s wife was the next one in the house to develop symptoms of Ebola.
Willet Garpou couldn’t stand by and let the woman die, so she treated her with injections for a week. Two weeks later, Willet herself developed symptoms of Ebola.
Sawer prayed with Willet morning and night. She helped her dress, and even touched her feet. But Willet died at home, and within days, Sawer was called again, this time to pray for Pastor Garpou’s healing.
Despite her prayers, he too passed to his reward.

“I believe maybe it’s God’s will,” Sawer told The Times. Still, she wondered why God didn’t heal a man like her pastor.

Soon, Sawer herself felt unusual symptoms that began with intense burning in her stomach. She fasted and prayed for three days, but the symptoms kept getting worse. She decided to have her oldest son Tim, 25, care for the rest of her children and she went to an Ebola treatment unit.
Even when they confirmed she had Ebola, she says she felt no fear or doubt. She was convinced that if she bathed her situation in prayer and dwelt in the presence of the Lord, she would survive. The first thing she requested at the treatment center was her Bible.
The worst-case scenario she faced would be heaven, rejoicing in the Lord’s presence for eternity.
As she lay in bed, with her temperature soaring, her body sweating and shaking, she felt like her torso was on fire. “It was the worst sickness I ever had,” she told The Times.

Then something remarkable happened. Just as she had experienced a visitation in her youth from a heavenly messenger, she had a personal encounter with God as she hovered between life and death.
“One night I felt a hand patting me on my shoulder,” she recounts.
“I don’t know who touched me. I think it was the spirit of God.” The next morning, she was healed!
Exulting in God’s goodness and healing mercies, she jumped out of bed that morning and marched around the clinic, urging the other Ebola patients to have faith in God.
She began to hold devotional meetings at the clinic twice a day, with bold prayers for healing, along with hymns. Even the nurses in their protective suits joined in, clapping and singing. Sawer also helped to feed and care for children whose parents or siblings were sick with Ebola.

A few days later, she discovered her oldest son, Tim, had contracted Ebola. He went for treatment, and for weeks, she heard nothing, She prayed fervently for her son’s survival. By God’s grace and mercy, her prayers were answered and her son returned home – completely healed.

Thank God that Nigeria has  finally been declared as ebola free.!!!...But irrespective of your ailment,Jehovah Rapha remains our healer. If only you believe, there's still a balm in Gilead that heals.

HOW VALID IS YOUR DECISION TO OBEY?

As powerful as God is,there are certain things He just can't do.YES..you heard me right!! God cannot do certain things. God will not compel us to do His will irrespective of how much He wants us to.Choice is one thing that even God cannot takeaway from mankind. He is a loving and compassionate father who definitely wants the best for His children, but will never force us against our will. Most of us in our unrenewed state of minds make decisions that hurt our maker who unfortunately will not help us then, except by His mercies all because of our disobedience.
That's why in Jeremaiah.29:11, He says;
''I know the thoughts that i think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil.To give you a future and a hope.''
Every believer must choose whether he will live by the principle of obedience or follow his preferences. When a person commits to doing the Lord’s will, then every situation and decision is sifted through the standard of  "God said it, so I’m going to do it—and that’s the end of it." Such a person may complain, weep, or try to argue. But in the end he will be obedient, no matter what. If we are going to be sincere with ourselves,we'll agree that there are times we feel this nagging anxiety of missing out on something good whenever we choose to do our will and not God's.
The Lord certainly understands our need to question, cry out, and petition Him for the strength to do what He asks. That's why Hebrews 4:15 tells us that we have a high priest who can sympathize with us. Jesus wasn’t excited or happy about the cross. He grieved over the coming separation from His Father. Nevertheless, He was committed to following God’s will (Matt. 26:39). No one took Christ’s life from Him; He laid it down (John 10:18).

The crux of our existence is to fulfill Gods purpose for our lives. Many people miss His awesome plan for them because they choose to follow their preferences. Obedience is sometimes hard, but in the end we find that the struggle and sacrifice are worth it. There is joy and peace for the believer who pleases the Lord and lives by His principles.

God loves you and promises a life of joy and fulfillment through Jesus Christ. Meet Him HERE

PASTORS  AND DEACON SENT TO JAIL FOR THEIR FAITH

Pastor Benham Irani,Pastor Matthias Haghnejad and Deacon Silas Rabbani will be forced to spend six years in isolated prisons; Irani will be sent to a prison in the northern city of Zabol, while Haghnejad and Rabbani will serve their sentences in a prison on the island of Minab.

Pastor Benham Irani

Christian Solidarity Worldwide Chief Operating Officer, Andy Dipper said after the sentences were announced, "We are deeply concerned by the six-year sentences given to pastors Irani and Haghnejad and deacon Silas Rabbani, and the fact that they will serve these sentences so far from their families and home towns.”
Irani’s sentence will actually extend 12 years because he had previously been charged with “action against the state” and “action against the order” in 2006.

Dipper said, "We are particularly appalled by the extra six years given to pastor Irani, who has already endured ill-treatment whilst in prison and now faces nearly a decade in prison on trumped-up charges. We urge the Iranian government to release without delay every person who is imprisoned for their faith. Their incarceration contravenes international covenants guaranteeing freedom of religion or belief, to which Iran is party."

hhhhmmm..........How well do you partake in missions? How well do you busy yourself with the master's heartbeat? Most of us hide under the pretence of not being called into the mission field and as such,no diring need to be involved in missions.Like we all know, missions in the real sense is reaching out to those who havent enough truth of Gods word to be free.Abiding within this context,it needent be a distant sojourn into a foreign land or a remote village. It could be as close as whispering the words ''jesus loves you'' to a friend or dropping off a tract as you exit the cab for the next passenger. Now that its the so-called 'computer age' with so unlimited acces to the internet and various social forums,it makes it easier to simply post and upload pictures depicting Gods profound love for humanity on your timeline.yea.its just s simple as that.
Where all these is missing,we still haven't an excuse as not to be involved in missions. Our prayers go a long way in bridging the gap.

''The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much''...James.5;16b
If our prayers are effective enough,we can change the world and cause a constant jubilation in heaven over every soul won for Christ.

And just in case you want to begin a personal relationship with God,He's right HERE waiting for you.

DANGEROUS FETISH PRIEST MEETS THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD

In his fetish shrine – filled with inanimate objects of worship – he served as mediator between the living and the dead. Many feared him in the village, until God’s Word brought transformational change.

“Nicolas was the head of his village and owned all the renowned fetishes of the region, which each have an idol attached to them,” says Pastor Ebo*, who is affiliated with Faith Comes by Hearing (FCBH). “He was known to be one of the most wicked animists of the region.”

In West Africa, fetish priests perform rituals in these shrines to gain favor from their gods. Their rituals are sometimes performed with money, alcohol, animals, and in some locales, human sex slaves.
“If a person didn’t respond properly to the fetish priest’s request, they were asked to kill their own family members in order to provide the blood required to feed the idols. Because of that, Nicolas was highly feared,” Pastor Ebo says.

Yet Pastor Ebo felt led to reach out to the dreaded priest. “Despite my concerns, God told me to talk to him about Christ. I visited his son and he took me to see Nicolas who was suffering from an abscess in his right armpit.” Apparently, Nicolas couldn’t find relief for his malady from his many idols.
Pastor Ebo took his “Proclaimer” to the visit, a digital device dedicated to playing God’s Word in their language. “I introduced myself and told him that God sent me to talk with him,” he reports.
“I quickly started playing the Proclaimer,” which he had set to play in the first Epistle of John.
What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of Life — and the life was manifested, and we have seen and bear witness and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was from the Father and was manifested to us…
After playing God’s Word for a few minutes, Pastor Ebo shut off his Proclaimer, and he began to share his hope in Jesus Christ.
Suddenly there was a dramatic change in the wicked priest’s countenance. Nicolas became silent, held his chin, and started sobbing.
Pastor Ebo’s eyes widened as the priest shared about his life, confessing all the bad things he had been doing. “I abused women for power, killed people to feed my fetishes with their blood because you cannot pass a day without doing so.”

Listening to the Proclaimer

The power of the Word and the Spirit brought a spirit of repentance upon one of the most unlikely people. “I seized that open door and told him about Christ, the free gift of God who died for all human beings. I told him that Jesus is the Savior for all, emphasizing that Jesus died for him,” Pastor Ebo recounts.
Remarkably, this widely feared fetish priest decided to give his life completely to Jesus Christ.
“A few months later, Nicolas asked me to come back to see him. He was very ill and he pleaded with me,

‘Please, plant a church in this village!’

It proved to be his last wish. “He died the next day,” Pastor Ebo sadly reports.
Yet his changed life and untimely death led to a harvest for many. “A Faith Comes By Hearing Bible listening group still meets in his house with the JESUS film being used to plant the church he requested before he passed away,” Pastor Ebo reports.
Truly, truly I say to you, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.-John.12:24
In a village where one man robbed many of life, a fountain of new life has emerged.

Do you want to know God personally? He's right HERE waitng for you

POSITIVE SELF TALK (2)

It is not enough for us to study the bible everyday in search of God's promises for our lives.

We must understand that there is a big gap between what the Bible says about us and what we feel about ourselves!"so,just like the car that has been loaded with enough fuel and horsepower to go anywhere it wants to go, we have potentials in us that won't be released until we hold the keys in our hands. Not just holding the keys but to turn it in ignition by using our mouths to profess our identities in Christ Jesus. We must pay a very close attention to the word acknowledege in that verse. This word is from the Greek word epignosis, which describes a well-instructed, intensive, deep knowledge of the facts.

But how do we obtain such knowledge of the facts? No one becomes this knowledgeable accidentally.
For example, consider this blog you are reading. The information contained here didn't come  while sleeping. It is the result of many years of study and very hard work. It is conscious effort of reading widely and gathering information from various sources that has brought this piece together. Now Paul uses this same idea when he says we are to "acknowledge" every good thing that has been placed in us by Christ Jesus. Of course, this means we are to confess the truth about ourselves - but before we can confess the truth, we must first know the truth!

A key in the ignition switch does no good unless it is turned. Likewise, the truth in your life does no good until it is spoken! The moment you open your mouth and start confessing the good things that are in you by Jesus Christ, a supernatural connection is made between your faith and all that Jesus has deposited inside you. At that moment, the gifts and treasures God has placed inside you become supernaturally activated. The confession of your mouth - your acknowledgement of the truth - is what sparks these spiritual blessings and causes them to become operative, activated, and manifested realities.
Sadly, many people who know the truth remain in bondage because they never align their mouths with the truth. Instead of speaking what God says about them, they ridicule themselves, put themselves down, and speak badly of themselves. They possess all the potential that God has placed inside them, but they never experience that potential because their mouths have never sparked and activated those spiritual blessings into becoming manifested realities.

To make these truths real in your life, you have to put the key in the ignition switch.
