MERIAM IBRAHIM DENIES SUPPORT FOR MOVIE "I AM A CHRISTIAN"
Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman whose true-life story has been used to make a movie says she didn't give the filmmakers the consent to do so.
Ibrahim who was raised as a christian and married to a christian man said her story was a life changing one. The Sudanese government at the time viewed the marriage as illegitimate, since her father was a Muslim. She was then charged to court and sentenced to 1000 lash with death by hanging as she refused to renounce her faith.
The movie is intended to be a source of inspiration to persecuted Christians all over the world, especially the Christians in the middle east.
According to her, she has already given another film company the license to produce the movie. The whole idea of the movie wasn't a pleasant one to her as it made her feel like being imprisoned in Sudan all over again.
