EXPERTS SAYS THE GREAT COMMISSION MILESTONE WILL BE REACHED BY 2020
Today there are 1600 unreached ethnic groups according to estimates from the US center for world missions. About 300 new people groups are being engaged by world missionaries every year for the first time, according to David Taylor, a leader at the US center.
This means that by the year 2020, all remaining unreached groups will receive an introduction to the gospel according to their projections. Such a dramatic fulfillment of the bible prophecy (according to Matt.24:14) has been the quest of evangelism. Undertaking undaunting risks of reaching 3000 unreached groups, resources, efforts and prayers are being channeled to launch missionaries into those parts of the world. It appears most likely that our generation will be the one to witness the 2000 year anniversary of the great commission given by our Lord Jesus Christ. Of course it will be a wonderful thing if by that time we able to boldly stand and tell Jesus that ''in reward of your suffering people from every language tribe and nation are worshiping and representing your name from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth''.
The US center for world missions conducts researches, innovates solution to overcome barriers and utilizes media to promote the preaching of the gospel worldwide. As part of the overall effort, the Presbyterian church in mexico representing about 5000 churches launched a ''sending program'' and began to devise a manual for church planting and growth. The church also has it in plans to hold a conference next year with 1200 participants. Towards the end of this year, prayers will be held for the middle east, with an initiative tagged ''light the window''. Plans are presently made underground to form an association for indigenous missions organisations in the 10-40 a latitudinal stretch of the earth through Northern Africa the middle east and China that represents the area of the globe least reached by the gospel.
''This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a witness to all nations, and then the end shall come''.
